Redesign
Vancouver Public Library

Nice if somewhat plain redesign of the Vancouver Public Library site. On the plus side, the bottom navigation is extensive and follows the current pattern on many well-designed sites in this respect.
Also, you can set any library branch as your 'home branch' at which point it appears on the home page. Nice.
On the not-so-plus side, the Calendar is kind of clunky and integration of reading lists is a bit better on other sites.

Whoever did the design work on this ought to be congratulated! Really nice looking site. Even the 2nd Tier pages like the Database and Contacts pages are well laid out. There's the (by now) normal multi-search box at the top. For chat on their Ask A Librarian Page, they're using Meebo.
All-in-all a nice job!

The new redesign of the systems website. A new and attractive navigation has been implemented as well as a variety of web applications that offer patrons a greater opportunity to interact with the library in a digitally. Blogs for news and events, the book club, and teen events have been started and RSS feeds have been provided for new book releases. A Flickr page serves as the library's photo album.
