This book is so funny. I did not want to put it down. I love all Emma Hart’s books. She is a great author. You won’t be disappointed in any of her books.

I laughed until tears ran down my leg! So funny. So sweet. Jake was freakin adorable! Sad that it’s over so quickly, but excited for Peyton’s story.
  • Where’s the ending?

Couldn’t believe I read all the way through this book and was completely unprepared for no ending. First time I’ve read one of her books and will probably be the last. Wouldn’t have written this review if it had only been 99 cents but at $3.99 it was overpriced.
  • Hmmm

I loved the story and the couple, I just really wished the author had actually finished their story. They never really got their own ending before you jump into another characters story. Just didn’t feel complete to me at all.

I could not stop laughing! Classic Emma Hart rom/com with all of the snark, sass, banter and chemistry I love in her books. I can always count on an Emma book to give me a much needed smile on my face. Jake and Mellie were so funny. The awkward interactions had me chuckling, and the attraction between them was soooo good. I’m a fan of the good guys and Jake lived up to the gentlemen definition. I gotta say how much I loved Peyton and Chloe as well. The girl talk and teasing was absolutely hilarious. I can’t wait for their books. What else can I say. Emma is a master at the witty, the funny and creating relatable yet charming characters. I love everything this author writes and this was no exception.
  • Super-Cute and Funny, Too!

He had the most real kind of smile. Not forced, and you could see it in his eyes, whether it was a smirk or a wide grin like the one he was wearing right now. It was dangerous. Daring. Like crack for my libido, if I was honest. Fans, friends, fans and a tub of popcorn. Because THE UPSIDE TO BEING SINGLE is that chock-full of sexual tension and witty banter, moments that veritably sizzle and ones that had me laughing out loud. In short, it's the perfect combination of sexy and sweet, funny and steamy, and a prime example of why Emma Hart is one of my go-to authors. Mellie and her friends are a riot, and exactly the kind of ladies that I would want as my mid-twenties posse. They lift each other up, they egg each other on, and they take no prisoners when calling each other out, which makes for some of the more endearing moments of this book. And Jake, oh, my goodness. This is a man who very obviously knows what he wants, and repercussions be darned. He's single, available, and pretty well-adjusted. I have to say that he's one of my favorite of Emma's leading men yet, and I hope to see more of him. Emma's a pro at romantic comedies, and her books never fail to draw me in and leave me smiling. I enjoyed everything about THE UPSIDE TO BEING SINGLE, and I can't wait to see more of the characters that we've met here in THE HOOK-UP EXPERIMENT. In the meantime, 4.5 stars for Mellie, Jake, and all of the gang. Fans of Emma, grab this book!
  • A fun sexy read!!!

This book had me cracking up the entire time. From the first time he sees Mellie, Jake realizes she’s a bit of a... well, hot mess. He always seems to catch her at the worst moments, but he still can’t resist his attraction to her. I loved the banter between these two. Whether it was cooking dinner or working, we were always guaranteed a good argument with a sexy makeout session that followed. A fantastic, fun read that I would definitely recommend!!!
  • Awful

The plot was good and kept me holding out for it to get better. But it didn't. There are typos, the language and banter between characters is juvenile, and I'm annoyed I spent $2.99 and an hour of my life on this.

Gahhhhh! Emma’s book kill me! I loved the witty banter between Jake and Mellie! This rom-com does not disappoint!
  • Zero-angst, humorous and fun-loving read!

I absolutely love reading Emma Hart’s books, they’re usually low angst and a fun-loving read. And that’s what is to be expected with The Upside to Being Single. Jake has seen her good and it’s a sight he’ll never forget. With Mellie knowing that she is to meet her new boss the next day, she gets the surprise of her life when it’s THE very man who has seen said boobs. Cue the humiliation and something that will never be let down. But it’s a start of a beautiful “working” relationship between these two. Despite Mellie and Jake being in their late 20s, the way they act to one another is a bit on the kid-ish side and quite playful. I loved the humorous banter between them. Despite their working relationship, they TRY (but not really) to keep it at that. It’s tough for them to fight the attraction towards each other, kind of hard to do, when your boss has seen your boobs (all because of a dare from her best friends). Ah the joys of living in New Orleans, home of the good ole Mardi Gras. With their hilarious banter can I just mention a little scene that involves cooking … in the kitchen. That first scene seriously made me love this book the most. Trust me, you’ll know exactly what I mean when you read it. Complete steam factor just rolling off of Jake and who wouldn’t want to be in that position. Jake has ZERO problem seducing Mellie. Jake takes on the role of being a boss very seriously and he has no problem bossing around the spitfire that is Mellie. AND who can’t love a man who brings donuts?! I find Mellie’s obsession with donuts, amazing! I myself love donuts, but I’m kind of upset with the fact that she doesn’t like sprinkles! That’s the only kind of donut one should love … but that’s just me. If you’re looking for a zero-angst, humorous and fun-loving read, get your hands on The Upside to Being Single. It’ll have you laughing and wanting more. I absolutely can’t wait to read the next one.
